Practical interactive 2 day course taught by experienced Hospice at Home staff designed to equip care staff to provide exceptional end-of-life care to patients and families.
Description
Day 1 (10 February 2026) - An opportunity to practice communication skills, which will improve your confidence when caring for a person at end of life.
Day 2 (26 February 2026) - To recognise changes, explore and understand how to practically care for someone's mouth, skin, bowel and bladder at end of life.

Day 1 - 10 February 2026 - Sensitive communications at end of life

Build Communication Skills: Gain confidence in verbal and non-verbal communication learn how to respond to challenging questions.

Communication Models: Introduction to the Barley model of communication and the SBAR tool.

Day 2 - 26 February 2026 - Care and comfort measures at the end of life

Pain and Distress Recognition: Identify signs of pain and distress in dying patients.
